Donnelly Delights
I'm slowing trying to cross off each section of the Bibbulmun Track. Whether it be maintenance visits, survery work or lending a hand with someone else's section of track I will take any excuse to get out on Track.
Last weekend, I was fortunate enough to stay at Donnelly River shelter (Friday Night) and Tom Rd (Saturday Night). This trip I was joined by my On Track Hiking Hire partner (Cameron), my son (Kale) and his two mates (Adam & Rhys).
We left Perth Friday night and headed for Donnelly River Village - arriving at 10pm. The Bibbulmun Track shelter is located at the old school. It is a little unique it that it is basically an uncover lunch room (no bunks etc) with a giant piece of canvas that swings down from the roof to seal you in from the cold outside - oh, did I also mention the kangaroos!
Thats right, 11.30pm, two curious kangaroos decided to stick their head in and say goodnight! Of course the (city) boys were amazed!

The next morning they couldn't wait to explore the town. Once again were amazed at the amount of wild life (emus & kangaroos) in town. Donnelly River is such a kid friendly spot. The forests are beautiful, the walks the best in the world and the lifestyle simply the best. It is certainly a venue we will look to promote to our international student customers.
